ABOUT our team

Richardson Sport started in 2005 with high quality multisport programs in the Victoria area. In 2007 EcoQuest camps began to help connect children to the environment and soon after the EcoQuest Kayak camps began. The Richardson Sport team also provides administration recreational programs and event support for Braefoot Community Association. Our team is devoted to providing all children in the Victoria area with high quality recreation programs. Our team of young professionals strives to create a passion for active healthy lifestyles.

Amanda Kelly

Amanda graduated in 2015 with a BSc in Sports Coaching from Leeds Beckett University in Leeds, England where she was born and raised. After moving away from England in her late teenage years she developed her own youth soccer Academy in Texas. Now having moved to Victoria, BC She became the Director of Operations for Richardson Sport and is currently completing her MA in Global Leadership at Royal Roads University. She is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion, wants transformative change and believes it is important to embed this into the holistic learning frameworks of child development.

What were your favourite childhood hobbies?

Sports! Soccer especially competing professionally.

What was your favourite childhood book or movie? 

Harry Potter. 

What do you consider to be the most important quality for someone working in childcare?

Buildings Relationships / Connectednesss. 

How much experience do you have working in childcare? 

12 years in the childcare industry.

What is you're favourite game to play with the kids? 

Army, It Gives the children multiple chances to try again teaching them it is ok to keep trying. 

What's the most rewarding moment you've had as a childcare provider?

Watching a child who has been struggling to complete a task, or transition into a new place where they flourish and recognize their success and abilities. 

What's your favourite animal?

Lee Richardson
Founder and CEO

Lee Richardson started Richardson Sport Inc in 2005. He has a BSc. in Environmental Science and a BEd. in Primary Education. He loves the outdoors and is a sponsored Sea Kayaker. He loves Sports and spends life teaching and learning sports.

Josh is a 36-year-old father of two who has been serving as a multisport coach at RSI for the past year. Over the last six months, he has taken on the role of Head Coach, overseeing programming initiatives. Josh's personal journey has been shaped by a passion for physical activity, which began with active participation in gym class games and recess activities, despite facing financial barriers to organized sports.

As an adult, Josh recognizes the profound impact of sports deprivation on one's well-being. Consequently, he is dedicated to developing and delivering programs that foster a lifelong, positive relationship with sports among children, ensuring they experience the benefits without the stress often associated with competitive environments. He believes that sports offer children invaluable benefits, including confidence, friendships, and potential scholarship opportunities.

  • what is your favourite sport? all sports but hockey and soccer have a special place in my heart.

  • What was your favourite childhood book or movie? Mighty Ducks.

  • What do you consider to be the most important quality for someone working with children? patience, when kids have a tantrum they need time to regulate their emotions and rejoin the group, 9 times out of 10 all they need is time and that's it.

  • What is your favourite thing about working with children? They remind me what's important in life which is to laugh and have fun.

  • What's your favourite game to play with kids and why? treasure hunt, they move their bodies and work as a team to collect more treasure then the other team. 

Dylan Bentley

Dylan is a third year student studying Sociology at Uvic and enjoys going to the gym and playing hockey in his free time. He has been playing sports like hockey baseball and basketball since he was a toddler. He is looking forward to meeting both parents and children and is excited to create a fun and healthy environment to enjoy playing some sports!

What were your favourite childhood hobbies? 

As a kid i loved playing Hockey, Swimming, Playing with friends and Running.

r movie? 

The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson.

What do you consider to be the most important quality for someone working in childcare? 

Someone with a positive attitude and very energetic.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be and why?

Dr Strange for his awesome powers and because of the friends he has.

What is your favourite thing about working with children? 

How innocent and fun children are, goes to show that everyone starts out as a kind and friendly person.

How much experience do you have working in childcare?

Overall about 6 months of experience in childcare.

Milly is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Victoria. Milly grew up in Jasper, Alberta and was given many opportunities to play sports at every age. These opportunities provided her with coping skills to everyday challenges and helped her understand the importance of physical activity at a young age. Her goal is to continue study physical activity in relation to its affect on mental well being in children and adults. She is very excited to teach kids a variety of sports especially soccer (it’s her favourite).
