ABOUT

Richardson Sport started in 2005 with high quality multisport programs in the Victoria area. In 2007 EcoQuest camps began to help connect children to the environment and soon after the EcoQuest Kayak camps began. The Richardson Sport team also provides administration recreational programs and event support for Braefoot Community Association. Our team is devoted to providing all children in the Victoria area with high quality recreation programs. Our team of young professionals strives to create a passion for active healthy lifestyles.

Our Team

Lee Richardson
Founder and CEO

Lee Richardson started Richardson Sport Inc in 2005. He has a BSc. in Environmental Science and a BEd. in Primary Education. He loves the outdoors and is a sponsored Sea Kayaker. He loves Sports and spends life teaching and learning sports.

Torsten Schultz
Office Manager
Torsten began at Richardson Sport in early 2020, right as the pandemic began. Since then, his role has taken many forms as RSI navigated the challenges of that difficult time. He has a passion for the outdoors and being active that he eagerly shares with others. When not busy helping RSI be successful, Torsten enjoys kayaking, swimming, and curling in the winter.

Alexis Khoshaba
Head Coach 

Alexis has been coaching with RSI for over 3 years and has lots of experience coaching and playing sports. She is an elementary teacher, with a degree in Sport and Recreation Management & Coaching, and has taught in Canada and India. She has a passion for sports, and played high level softball for her entire life, including 4 years at the University of Minnesota Crookston.  She says her inspiration for coaching was the opportunity to give back to the community and share her passion for sport and education.

MADDIE SMITH
COACH

Maddie is currently studying writing at the University of Victoria. After playing high-level rugby for 8 years and competing in tournaments across several continents, she hopes to pass on her love for sports and encourage the rise of a happy, healthy, and active generation. She is the oldest of three children and has always loved interacting with kids.

Jessica Klein 
Coach

Jessica is currently finishing up her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Victoria and is hoping to continue on to get her master's degree in counselling. She is a very active person, and grew up playing basketball, volleyball and doing track and field. Jessica loves coaching because it allows her to make a positive difference in the community and she can promote a healthy and active lifestyle for the children in the program.

Giuliano Caseiro
Coach

Giuliano graduated in his hometown Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He moved to Canada 18 months ago to continue his studies and has loved his time here so far. After a decade working in IT and Project Management he decided to change his career path and took up coaching sports. He started playing soccer when he was 6 and since then it has been a huge passion in his life. He loves coaching kids sports and enjoys the new challenges it can bring up on a daily basis.

Brittany Oliver
Coach

Brittany is currently employed with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Naval Instructor while completing her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Women & Gender Studies and Anthropology at Athabasca University. Brittany has grown up within a sports family and started competitive swimming at the age of 5 through to her teen years. Since then she has played in a variety of sports including, soccer, track and field, boxing, mixed martial arts, krav maga, Brazilian jiu jitsu, running, cycling and her favourite sport being rugby in which she was offered a position to play for Women’s U18 Rugby in Ontario. Her passion for coaching and playing sports is inspired by the confidence and positive impact that is achieved through developing skills in teamwork, leadership, integrity, discipline, goal setting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Derek Robertson
Program Coordinator

Derek is a father of three and grew up localling in Victoria. He has a passion for playing any sports especially hockey and football and supports Canucks, Seahawks and the BC Lions. Derek graduated from Camosun with a Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership.

Georgia Smith 
Coach

​Georgia recently graduated from Mount Douglas Secondary and is attending UVIC in the fall studying general sciences. She has experience playing softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball. She played provincial level softball for many years and is excited to have the opportunity to coach children to help them find a sport they are passionate about.

Milly Tsiatas
Coach

Milly is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Victoria. Milly grew up in Jasper, Alberta and was given many opportunities to play sports at every age. These opportunities provided her with coping skills to everyday challenges and helped her understand the importance of physical activity at a young age. Her goal is to continue study physical activity in relation to its affect on mental well being in children and adults. She is very excited to teach kids a variety of sports especially soccer (it’s her favourite).

Ryan White 
Coach

Ryan is completing his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Victoria. He is currently applying for his doctoral degree (PhD) in child psychology/sports psychology. Ryan grew up playing primarily baseball, track and field, basketball, soccer, and rugby with a focus on hockey and lacrosse in which he player up to Junior A in both. He now referee’s up to the Western Hockey League and the Western Lacrosse Association and enjoys playing and coaching all sports. His passion for coaching is inspired by his desire to give back to the younger generations the positive aspects that sport provided himself. This includes promoting health and wellness and life long skills such as work ethic, teamwork, self control and how to have fun being active.

Olivia Alexander
Coach

Olivia was was born and raised in Victoria and is currently studying at the University of Victoria working towards a degree in Elementary Education. She has been a lifeguard and Swim instructor at the Esquimalt Recreation centre for 5 years. 

Sports have always been a huge part of her life and growing up she played lacrosse for 10 years, and hockey for 14 years. After graduating high school, she continued her education and hockey career at The University of Lethbridge for 2 years. 

Her passion of coaching children is inspired by all the amazing coaches she had growing up. Olivia wants to give back to her community and show children the importance of playing sports and the impact it has on your personal growth in the future!
